Ireland ’s major air-travel providers have been blasted for failing to disclose accurate pricelists on their websites.
Three of Ireland ’s largest airlines, Aer Lingus, Ryanair and Aer Arann have all received warnings from industry bosses for their failure to provide transparent figures to customers regarding airfares.
The European Commission has published a report on airlines throughout the continent, detailing a ‘grey list’ of companies failing to meet standardised requirements. Problems in the past have included the addition of insurance, with unclear opt-out options and baggage/seating fees not included in initial advertising.
Not under fire, however, is the Irish car rentals industry, which ensures that its customers always receive clear pricing information, regardless of their close association with airlines and airports.
