On August 21st, the town of Kilmallock will be hosting Ireland’s largest ever multi-period battle re-enactment and medieval fun day. The weekend will see over 200 battle re-enactments being staged by the vast numbers of visitors who will be camping there for the festival.

Multi--period battles will re-enact the most famous of the Roman, Norman and Medieval period battles. But famous battles from the First and Second World War will also be re-enacted, as well as from the American and Irish wars of Independence.

Participants in the battle will be kitted out with all the traditional uniforms of the period, with later battles even featuring real-life military vehicles. Of course, if you are simply going there to watch, you may prefer to travel in comfort with a more modern vehicle from www.carhire.ie.
