NITB, the Northern Ireland Tourist Board reveals new initiative, taking advantage of the natural chattiness of taxi drivers.

NITB believes that taxi drivers will be able to play a vital role in the promotion of the tourist industry in Northern Ireland.

Thousands of taxi drivers will receive an instructive DVD that will teach them how to encourage tourists to try out various attractions, hotels.

As Kathryn Thomson, Chief Operating Officer at NITB has said; “Often a taxi driver can be the first point of contact for visitors as they arrive in Northern Ireland. Therefore they have a vital role in providing a warm welcome and sharing their valuable knowledge of the area and bringing the experience to life through stories and humour.”
