Ryanair Announces The End of Check-In Desks

Ryanair announces the end of check-in desks for all passengers as of the 1st of October 2009.  Ryanair, Ireland’s largest passenger airline will be requiring all passengers to check-in online from the 1st of October 2009. Since March, travellers with checked baggage and customers with reduced mobility have been able to check-in via the Ryanair website.

From the 1st of October passengers will be able to leave their bags at the ‘bag-drop’ desks- the reason for the change is to increase efficiency, both in terms of cost and time, with the savings being passed on to customers.

Passengers are already receiving incentives to check-in online, where they pay a €5 fee, instead of the €10 required for passengers checking in with airline desks. The reductions in the price of air-travel mean tourists will now be able to upgrade their car rentals at Dublin Airport, and other Irish airports.
