Finally some good news.  Thanks to its youthful enthusiasm, sophisticated atmosphere and plethora of excellent restaurants, Cork has been ranked within the top-ten for must see cities worldwide.
And the ranking was issued by none other than Lonely Planet, a coveted recommendation indeed, listed along with such cities as Singapore, Vancouver and Istanbul. Cork has some of the best attractions, restaurants, hotels and car rentals in Ireland today.
"Cork has really been developed in the last ten years. It was a bit dowdy, but now it's a vibrant city, lots to do," said manager of Cork City Gaol, Elizabeth Kearns. "People will go the extra bit for the visitor to Cork, if anyone is lost or anything, it's not unusual for someone to say I'll hop into my car and you just follow me and I'll take you there. Cork's time has come."
