Cavan Car Parking
Most of the car parks operated by the city of Cavan operate on a Pay and Display basis. If you’ve spent any time driving in Ireland, you’re probably already familiar with this system. For those who are here for the first time, it’s a straightforward setup.
Any Pay and Display car parks will include machines that accept Euro and issue badges for prepaid blocks of time. This badge needs to be displayed under the windscreen in order to avoid fines. Bear in mind that some parking spaces only allow one vehicle to occupy a particular spot for a certain amount of time, so read the signs carefully before prepaying several hours.
The main Pay and Display car parks are located at the following locations:
- Bridge Street car park
- Courthouse car park
- James Connolly Street car park
- Main Street car park
- Town Hall Street car park
There is also a large multi-storey car park in the town centre. It’s located at Cock Hill and offers the most convenient parking options for drivers who plan on spending a day exploring Cavan on foot. You’ll receive a ticket upon entering the multi-storey car park and can pay upon exit.
You’ll also find that many shops and hotels offer free parking to customers. With that in mind, quick visits to the city centre to pick up supplies or go shopping may not even require you to pay for parking.
